Pro bono service is a specific type of skills-based volunteering where volunteers contribute their professional skills, often to support a nonprofit’s internal operations. Simply put, pro bono projects are “professional services made accessible to organizations serving the public good, generally without expectation of a fee.”
For the purposes of this website, we will use the terms skills-based volunteerism and pro bono interchangeably.
